MioTech announced today it has become a signatory of the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), becoming the first signatory in the Greater China Region that focuses on serving the industry with cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence and alternative data.
The PRI is a world-leading proponent of responsible investment that supports an international network of signatories in integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into their investment analysis, decision-making practices, and ownership policies. There are currently more than 2,500 signatories across more than 60 countries. As the only AI-enabled technology provider in the Greater China Region, MioTech is committed to bringing more technology, data, and transparency to the investment community.
Under the banner of Green Finance and Impact Investing, ESG has been on a fast-rising trend in Asia, especially in China. This trend has been elevated by growing public consciousness amid natural disasters around the world.
At the center of the trend, a lack of data has haunted investors and companies for decades. Company self-reported data is often infrequent and subjective. With the advancement of Artificial Intelligence, MioTech has brought frequently-updated and more objective alternative data to the investment community. At the same time, disclosure and reporting consume a tremendous amount of resources and are usually prone to human error. MioTech has also digitized the reporting process to help companies manage their own ESG data.
“We take a pure technology approach to ESG. It is backed by our strong Natural Language Processing capabilities and a comprehensive knowledge graph,” said Jason Tu, CEO and Co-founder of MioTech. “We look forward to working with the industry, investment community, and regulators to build the responsible investment ecosystem and standards.”
